Process
Focused Brainstorming sessions are designed to generate innovative new ideas from cross disciplinary groups of physicians, nurses, engineers and business people. These groups begin by identifying a limitation to delivering quality care and define the attributes of an ideal solution. This is followed by an examination of current technology to determine if a minor modification or completely novel approach is necessary. The mix of disciplines, institutions and generations is crucial at this point to ensure the analysis is collectively exhaustive. If a novel approach is required, the floor is open for suggestions and each idea is evaluated based on developmental and clinical feasibility. All ideas that pass this step are forwarded to PediaWorks’ extended clinical and business advisory team for further feedback. Once the advisors approve an idea, PediaWorks manages the development through a network of universities, research institutions and contract engineering firms.
